Weekly Fishing Report

Lake Rusell's water temps are running aroud 51 degress in the feeder creeks. The crappie are gettin staged up for their spawn run.Lake Secession has been producing limits of crappie for several weeks now. The best teniques seem to be trolling minnow tipped jigs slowly or slow drift fishing minnows. Lake Russell crappie are running a little behind schedule this year but a few more warm days should get the water temps right.  For the largemouth try a spot remover rig hopped down the secondary points or crank a lipless crankbait through the ditches.  We have Strike Kings Red Eye Shad that should do the trick. Catfish are biting good on both lakes. (If your are up for a trip--I have some good friends that fished the Cooper River this week and caught 67#,55# 50# and severeral Blues over 40#-- I'm planning my trip now!! ) Use red worms, chicken liver or cut herring to catch cats..We have a good supply of live herring and many commercial stink baits. If youre setting basket, I have a limited supply of old style Meal Cake and 25 pound buckets of cheese. we also have some new PVC coated catfish baskets that are guarenteed not to rust for 10 years. Hey-- Stop in and check out all the new stuff and ask for your up to date fishing report. Just recieved -- Skeet Reese S-Curve rods $69.99 --Berkley Vendetta rods $59.99--Lazer Lure soft baits and Sebile soft baits--More coming in daily.
